Longevity Systems: The difference is quality

What’s the key to long-lasting systems that remove all water contaminants without chemicals? Our innovative technology and the quality of our media and components! From the tanks and resin beads to the contaminant-removal systems we use in extreme situations, we are committed to using the highest quality components.

In a state with as much hard water and contamination as Utah, an off-the-shelf softener or filtration system is not going to cut it. You are losing years, if not decades, of system lifespan. On top of that you’re likely not reducing all of the water hardness or many of the worst contaminants. Yikes! All of that money spent on a system and you may not be getting any better water.

How we give you soft, pure drinking water while removing bacteria, viruses, chemicals and more

No cutting corners and no “bells and whistles.” Just proven technology done right.

First off, we don’t use cheap materials. Our tanks, media, and control systems are all top-of-the-line. It’s the main reason our systems don’t quit after only 5 years.

Our media

Our media is high capacity, high quality, gel-type cation resin capable of meeting the most exacting water requirements of your household, farm, or commercial business. Our media is a key component in giving you free-flowing water that is taste and odor free. This is an area where we stand out above the competition. We use the best media out there and add enough to your system to keep you going for decades.

Our tanks

Longevity mineral tanks are made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic

liner with composite fiberglass filament winding over the liner. We like to use triple walled tanks. The design provides a continuous seamless inner liner with a glass filled polypropylene inlet for higher strength and pressure capabilities. Essentially, the tank will handle whatever we throw at it.

Our Control System

To customize the treatment of your water to handle the removal of contaminants based on your water usage, our control systems are capable of three modes of operation; meter immediate, meter delayed, or time clock delayed. We evaluate your needs at the time of your water test and our manufacturer pre-programs the system to your exact needs. All you have to do is make sure to set the clock!

We also have a double backwash feature if necessary, which offers optimum regeneration, cleaning ability, and efficiency.

System capacity and knowing your water needs

A Longevity Water Treatment Systems are able to tackle virtually any water issue. How? The first step is to understand capacity.

The average family uses 80 to 100 gallons of water per person per day. That means a household of five requires 400 gallons of softened water daily. You need enough media capacity to create that much pure water in tough water conditions. An out-of-the-box softener or other filtration system is likely not custom built to handle the capacity and extremes of Utah water use. You need the right system for the job. Otherwise you’re trying to pull a horse trailer with a Geo Metro. Good luck.

How does our primary treatment system work?

Your hard water passes through the media tank that contains resin beads coated with sodium ions and the calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium (or potassium) ions. When the beads have trapped the hardness and many of the contaminants, the beads need to be regenerated. The control valve charges them with the brine from the brine tank.

As regeneration occurs, calcium and magnesium (hardness) ions are freed from the beads and the system is ready to soften water again. This results in:

  • Removal of chlorine, iron, metals and controls bacteria and algae

  • Carbon removal of chemicals, organics

  • Improved taste and odor of water

  • Sediment reduction to 20 micron

Some components of the Longevity Water Treatment System are proprietary. The patented technologies used are not found in typical softeners and filtration systems and are key to the effectiveness of our systems.

Prep systems for when water issues are extreme

High levels of arsenic, bacteria, iron, sulfur and more sometimes require the big guns

It’s no secret that Utah water sources are increasingly more susceptible to dangerous and annoying contaminants. Iron, sulfur, calcium and magnesium levels can be so high that a typical system will struggle to take care of it. Levels of dangerous bacteria, pathogens, viruses, protozoa and trace metals can be so high that we need to add prep systems before your main treatment system to ensure only pure water makes it into your home or business.

Longevity has a prep system for almost every contamination situation. Our systems can reduce or remove:

  • Arsenic

  • Iron

  • Sulfur

  • Manganese

  • Color

  • Odor

  • Sediment

  • Lead

  • Chromium

  • Cadmium

  • Copper

  • Nickel

  • Silt

  • Clay

  • Radon

  • Herbicides

  • Pesticides

  • And more…

We test, evaluate and recommend based on your actual water composition. This is the extra step that many companies won’t bother doing.

In order to give you the right system we have to do our due diligence in testing your water. We don’t stop after a hardness test, as many sales people will do. We use a full water test lab to test hardness, precipitation, pH, soap reactivity, Iron, Chlorine, Nitrates and more. For wells and other specific cases we use bacteria and pathogen tests to ensure the most dangerous contaminants are not present.

Our consultants are ready to come test your water whenever you are ready!
